I love photographing weddings where the couple have really made the day their own. This was certainly the case with Sarah and Greg’s wonderful One Friendly Place wedding. Sarah and Greg ditched a lot of the more traditional wedding customs and did only those things that felt right to them. The result was an amazing, relaxed and unique celebration.
Sarah got ready in her childhood home. She was surrounded by her sisters, best friends, Mum and Dad and even the grandparents made an appearance.
Sarah didn’t want a traditional white wedding dress. Instead she chose a stunning colourfully embroidered dress, which is both timeless and boho-chic and suited her perfectly.
The ceremony and the wedding reception took place at the fabulous One Friendly Place – a unique and unusual London wedding venue and a wedding photographer’s dream. Set over four floors in an old spice warehoue in Deptford, One Friendly Place is a totally charming venue with funky decor, industrial vibes, colourful walls and cosy corners. The perfect backdrop for Sarah and Greg’s wedding celebration.
Sarah and Greg had a humanist wedding ceremony, which was performed by the amazing Zena Birch. The ceremony was personal, funny, touching, warm and simply wonderful. At the end of the ceremony, the marriage certificate was signed not only by the bride and groom and witnesses, but also by all the guests attending, which makes for a very special keepsake indeed.
The rest of the day was fun, laid-back and heartfelt – and it was a real pleasure to be a part of it. Congratulations Sarah and Greg! I hope your life together will be filled with joy, happiness and lots of love.
