It is an absolute pleasure to share Claire and Marks’s humanist yurt wedding with you today.
Claire and Mark are just the warmest, loveliest people with an amazing attitude to life.
A totally gorgeous yurt
Claire and Mark picked the idyllic North Hill Farm in Hertfordshire for their fun and relaxed yurt wedding. Not only is North Hill Farm just around the corner from Claire and Marks’s pretty country cottage, but the valley it overlooks was also the the location of their first date. Awww!
This was the first yurt wedding I have photographed and it was absolutely stunning. The light in the yurt is so beautiful and the detail of the wood work is gorgeous. A unique and picture perfect backdrop for a wedding reception.
Humanism meets Buddhism meets the Frog Chorus
Claire and Mark combined humanist and buddhist elements for a very personal, funny and touching wedding ceremony, which ended with the entire yurt singing the Frog Chorus.
Claire is a gardener so it’s not surprising that she was super excited about the wedding flowers. She is also great with a chainsaw and sawed the table centre pieces out of an old cherry tree herself.
Rain – who cares?!
As is so often the case with an English summer wedding, the weather did not play ball. It rained and rained but Claire and Mark really showed that a bit of bad weather doesn’t have to spoil the fun on your wedding day. The day carried on regardless, with high spirits and a great party, which ended with a big camp fire.
Claire and Mark, it was amazing to be a part of your wonderful wedding celebrations. You are two truly beautiful souls and I’m sure you will be very happy together.
If you are planning to get married in a yurt (or in any other cool place for that matter) and are looking for honest and natural wedding photos, I would love to hear from you. You can get in touch here.
