Herne Tavern Wedding – Jane + Ben

Jane and Ben’s Herne Tavern wedding took me to the delightful East Dulwich for a fun and relaxed celebration. Pub weddings are one of my favourites! But first things first…

Jane got ready with her family and besties at the couple’s charming flat in South East London. We seem to have similar tastes when it comes to interior decorations (as well as books) – I spotted quite a few of my soft furnishings and reading materials in between taking pictures.

Ben together with close friends and family were waiting for Jane’s arrival outside Southwark Registry Office. The last wedding I photographed here was Tammijean and Tom’s. It was during the deepest, darkest days of Covid, when only two guests were allowed to watch the ceremony. I ended up waiting outside with both Dads who were trying to get a glimpse of their children getting married. Luckily, we are in a much better place now and it was great to see Jane and Ben surrounded by their friends and family.

After some mingling and photos at the Southwark Registry Office, we moved to The Herne Tavern in East Dulwich for the wedding reception. The Herne Tavern is a gorgeous Victorian pub, right next to Peckham Rye – which came in very handy for the couple photos. The large pub garden made for a perfect place for a summer wedding.

It was a wonderful afternoon with table football, great speeches, and delicious BBQ food. Jane and Ben wanted a relaxed and fun pub wedding, and that’s exactly what they got – it was a real pleasure to photograph it!

Jane and Ben – you were an absolute pleasure to work with. I wish you both all the best for the future. I’m sure you will be very happy together.
