September was a busy and exciting month for me. I had the pleasure to photograph four amazing London weddings – all of which were fun, relaxed, beautifully styled and the couples were just lovely.
The month began with Jo and Paul’s down to earth wedding in Marylebone. Jo and Paul wanted to celebrate with a small and informal wedding with a dinner party feel. Jo works in PR and organises events and styled shoots for a living. So organising her wedding was second nature to her and she managed to do it in just 3 weeks! As part of her job, she has come across lots of different venues in London and knew exactly what she was after. Jo and Paul chose the smart yet relaxed Grazing Goat for their wedding reception. Its warm and rustic interior, muted tones and beautiful wood panelling made for a gorgeous backdrop to their wedding celebrations.
Despite being super organised, Jo was very relaxed and smiley on the day and was a real joy to photograph.
Jo and Paul had their wedding ceremony at the wonderful Asia House, a venue where I have had the pleasure to photograph many times before. Jo and Paul tied the knot in the Library, one of my favourite rooms at Asia House.
To kill a bit of time between the ceremony and wedding reception, the happy couple and guests went for a quick drink at a local pub. We also took this opportunity to take some natural and relaxed couple pictures of Jo and Paul walking the charming streets of Marylebone.
The guests gave the bride and groom a warm welcome when they arrived at the Grazing Goat. After a bit of mingling, the couple gave a funny and warm speech. I have noticed that a lot of the weddings I photographed this year didn’t have the traditional speeches set-up of father-of-the-bride, groom and best man. Often the bride made a speech, sometimes the mother-of -the- bride said a few words or various friends contributed.
Jo and Paul, it was so lovely to spend the day with you guys. Congratulations again on becoming husband and wife – I wish you a long and happy life together.
If you are planning a Grazing Goat wedding reception and are looking for a documentary photographer, get in touch. I would love the opportunity to work with you at this beautiful London wedding venue.
