Parents are such an important part of the wedding day. Seeing your little boy or girl get married is one of those very moving highlights of parenthood. I already know that I am going to be ridiculously emotional on Cosmo’s wedding day. Just thinking about it brings a tear to my eye, and he is only five!
Standing next to each other in a formal family portrait does very little to tell the story of the relationship between the bride and groom and their parents. On any wedding day, I work really hard to capture this special bond. I love getting to know my couples before the day to better understand the relationships and dynamics in the family. This helps me tell the story of the day and the people in it, and make the pictures I take more meaningful.
I love this picture of Nikita, the bride, dancing with her Dad. I adore the energy between them and how happy they both look. And the way Dad looks at her says it all.
This is the last blog post from me this year. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. Enjoy the holidays, spend time with your loved ones and take some time out to look after yourselves. I will see you in 2017!
