Devonshire Terrace Wedding

Amy + Chris

First dance with confetti bomb at Devonshire Terrace weddingI am really excited to share this Devonshire Terrace wedding with you.

Amy and Chris love London.  They live and work here and really wanted to get married in this great city.  So what better venue to choose than Devonshire Terrace.

Devonshire Terrace is set in the heart of the city very close to Liverpool Street station. It beautifully mixes history  – it used to be an East India company warehouse  – with modern London.  The yellow bricked courtyard is covered by a glass roof and some of London’s most exciting architecture acts as a backdrop to this unique venue.

My favourite part of Amy and Chris’ wedding was the walk to Devonshire Terrace. Amy got ready in an apartment just around the corner from the venue.  She was surrounded by her best friends, Mum and sister. I could tell straight away how close Amy is to her girlfriends.  They really looked after her and supported her in every way. And despite one of the bridesmaids having missed her flight from Italy and running late for the ceremony, the atmosphere was joyful and lighthearted. Being the fun bride that she is, Amy decided to make her way to the venue on foot. So we walked through the busy Petticoat Lane market to lots of cheers and well wishes. Such a fun scene to photograph!

Amy and Chris got married outdoors in the courtyard at Devonshire Terrace, which is overlooked by the Gherkin and was decorated beautifully with pink balloon lanterns and origami birds.

Amy and Chris made the most of this fantastic venue by mingling on the terrace, taking some photographs in the bare brick arches  and going for a little walk around the area to capture some of the stunning architecture.

The first dance was brilliant.  Amy wasn’t convinced she wanted a first dance. Like a lot of the brides I work with, Amy doesn’t like being the centre of attention. Her wonderful friends made things easier for and set off some fantastic confetti bombs during the first dance, which got everyone into the party spirit and made for a beautiful photograph.

Amy and Chris – what a wonderful day!  I wish you long and happy life together!
