Alex and Zach’s Cambridge Cottage wedding had spring written all over it. The sun was shining. The setting was Kew Gardens. And there were flowers everywhere – intricate botanical art decorated the walls of Cambridge Cottage, there were lots of dresses (as well as the groom’s waistcoat) covered in floral prints, the stationery had a floral theme and there were, of course, lots of flowers in the beautiful gardens,
Cambridge Cottage Wedding
Like so many of the couples I work with, Alex and Zach don’t like the idea of being the centre of attention. They didn’t want a grand wedding but rather a fun and relaxed party with their nearest and dearest. Cambridge Cottage was the perfect option for them. Whilst having the benefit of being set in Kew Gardens, it has an intimate and down to earth feel.
Humanist wedding ceremony…
Alex and Zach had a humanist wedding ceremony performed by the lovely Demelza Jones. I am a big fan of humanist ceremonies. They are always very personal and touching, with a good measure of humour thrown in. One of my favourite parts of this ceremony was the singing. The sound system that was supposed to accompany the singing didn’t quite work as it should do, which led to lots of laughter (and some great photographs).
…with a few Jewish wedding traditions mixed in
Zach is Jewish so a few Jewish wedding traditions were incorporated into the day. We had the smashing of the glass during the ceremony. And there was an impromptu Hora dance where the bride and groom get lifted up on chairs whilst the guests dance around them.
Fun and relaxed wedding
Overall this was such a lovely and fun and relaxed wedding – just the way I like them. Alex and Zach spent most of the day laughing with their guests and having a great time. It was great to be surrounded by so many smiling faces.
