When Ari described herself and Rowan as “a big bearded long-haired guy and a tiny human with glasses”, I knew this wedding was going to be fun and wonderful.
Ari and Rowan are a very cute couple who are totally in love. I love the fact that they met at a boardgame meet-up as I am a bit of a fan of boardgames myself.
Ari and Rowan wanted an intimate London wedding to celebrate with close friends and family.
They walked down the aisle together at Asia House to “Do you wanna dance” by The Ramones. After a heartfelt and emotional ceremony that even had the registrar in tears, we moved on to the old worldy charm and elegance of Crocker’s Folly in St Johns Wood.
Ari and Rowan spent a bit of time catching up with all their friends and family before sitting down for a delicious meal in the stunning and opulent surroundings of the recently refurbished Crocker’s Folly.
Ari has a background in photography and is usually the one behind the camera. Like a lot of the couples I photograph, she wasn’t too keen on the idea of posing for the camera. The beautiful thing about documentary wedding photography is that you don’t have to! Ari looked so happy on the day that she looks totally goregous in every photograph I took without even having to think about it.
After spending the afternoon with Ari and Rowan and their lovely group of friends and family, I left them to have some more drinks at the bar and to play a few boardgames back at the apartment above Crocker’s Folly.
As I am writing this Ari and Rowan are in Las Vegas where they’ll be having a second wedding ceremon, followed by a honeymoon in Mexico – the lucky things!
Ari’s beautiful succulent bouquet – her favourite plant – was put together by Dansk Flowers and the yummy vegan wedding cake cupcakes were made by Ms Cupcake.
