This was such a lovely wedding. Pat and Brent are a mature couple who have both been married before. They tied the knot a second time at the picturesque Enfield Registry Office, and celebrated with a big garden party at their home in Winchmore Hill. They had originally planned for a small and casual barbecue but as time went on and they had invited their many friends, it turned into something a bit grander but no less relaxed and fun.
Pat is a very fun-loving person with a real joie de vivre. She has been a big Elton John fan all her life. She made me laugh by putting up a life-sized Elton John cut-out saying “it should have been me”. Pat arrived at Enfield Registry office in a pink cadillac blasting Elton John songs and the wedding ceremony had a real party feel to it.
Both Pat and Brent have children from a previous marriage who played a big part during the day. Pat’s daughter Clare was the bridesmaid, her son Rob walked her down the aisle and the best man was Brent’s eldest son Jake. The children made some beautiful and emotional speeches. I think any Mum in the room – including me – had a tear in her eye.
All in all, it was wonderful day with lots of happiness, joy and laughter.
