Earlier this year, I had the pleasure to photograph another beautiful Stoke Newington Town Hall wedding followed by a wedding reception at one of my favourite London venues – the West Reservoir Centre in Stoke Newington.
I joined Joe, the groom, in the Rose and Crown pub opposite Stoke Newington Town Hall, where he greeted and mingled with friends and family. The atmosphere was cheery and I could tell straight away that this was going to be good day.
Stoke Newington Town Hall is such an elegant and charming place to get married. It oozes vintage charm with its dark mahogany and marble interiors and art deco detail. The ceremony was made extra special by a very personal musical contribution. Joe’s sister formed a little choir, consisting of the mothers of the bride and groom and siblings, to accompany the ceremony.
After some lovely confetti and mingling with the guests outside Stoke Newington Town Hall, we had a fun walk through Clissold Park to make our way to the stunning West Reservoir Centre. The impressive industrial architecture and the terraces overlooking the water make this such a wonderful venue to work at.
Gwen and Joe have amazing friends who decorated the wedding venue, baked cakes for a wedding cake buffet, cried and cheered in all the right places and lived the day to the full with the happy couple.
The speeches were funny, touching and plentiful. Rather than going for the traditional speech set-up, Gwen and Joe involved brothers, mothers as well as Joe’s three (!) best men.
Gwen and Joe, what a pleasure it was to spend the day with you and your wonderful set of friends! Thank you for having me and congratulations on becoming husband and wife!
