Katherine and Bobby got married abroad in beautiful Thailand. They took their parents with them and had a small and intimate wedding on a sandy dreamy beach. However, they didn’t want to miss out on celebrating with their friends and relatives so they put on a big party back in the UK.
Katherine and Bobby chose the Noke Hotel in St Albans for their wedding reception. It is just around the corner from their home and it was easy for friends and relatives to stay over. The hotel put up a big marquee on its grounds, which was a great place to celebrate on a summer’s evening.
This is actually very similar to what we did for our wedding. Steve and I eloped to Scotland – just the two of us. Before you ask, it wasn’t Gretna Green but Fort William. A few months later we had a big party with all our nearest and dearest in Pendennis Castle in Cornwall. Happy days!
I joined Katherine and Bobby for the bridal preparations in their hotel room. Katherine’s Mum did her hair for her, which was very sweet. It made me think how often she must have done that for her daughter when she was little. And now she is doing it on her wedding day.
As this was only a wedding reception and Katherine and Bobby didn’t want any formal photographs, they had lots of time to mingle and have fun with their guests.
My highlight of the evening was that during his speech Bobby announced that him and Katherine are expecting a baby. This was a surprise to most of the guests and it was lovely to capture the reactions and the happy vibes such an announcement brings with it.
Katherine and Bobby, I wish you all the best for the future. The next few years are going to be amazing! You will be wonderful parents, I am sure.
