What a great wedding to start off my spring wedding season. It was beautiful, romantic and just perfect!
Laura and Yiannis had a Greek Orthodox ceremony in a tiny romantic church in Englefield in Surrey. The church was packed with not a square inch in sight, with some of the guests watching the ceremony from outside. This is the second Greek Orthodox ceremony – see Georghia and Chris’ wedding here – I have had the pleasure to photograph. I really enjoy observing and capturing different customs and traditions.
Laura and Yiannis chose the charming Lyne village hall in Surrey for a very relaxed and down-to-earth wedding reception. Laura and Yiannis had personalised Lyne village hall with lots of wonderful DIY decorations and thoughtful touches. There was hand-made bunting in the hall and pretty hearts decorated the ceiling of the marquee. Laura’s brother-in-law had brewed his own craft beer for the wedding for the guests to enjoy.
The wedding breakfast was a buffet-style barbecue, after which Laura and Yiannis invited their guests to a Greek dancing lesson to give everyone a head-start for the dancing later on in the day. The dancing was so much fun, both for the guests (some of whom had never taken part in Greek dancing before) and for me as a photographer.
This was a very family friendly wedding with children running around, climbing trees and rocking the dancefloor. Laura and Yiannis’ four nieces were very cute flower girls and were a real pleasure to photograph and spend time with.
