I took this photograph in the church whilst the guests were waiting for the bride to arrive. This little girl was sitting at the back of the church but wanted to spend a bit of time with Daddy who was one of the ushers.
I love the contrast of the white dress in amongst all the black suits, and the tender connection between father and daughter. In a couple of decades, she might be wearing a similar dress, and he might be walking her down the aisle, thinking back to the days when she was small enough to snuggle up on this lap.
This is an example of a photograph that works beautifully in black and white. It emphasises the contrast and draws you in to the connection between the two.
